About

This is a site documenting the travel and migration patterns of saw-whet owls, along with background information on the owls and bird banding.

Background

The saw-whet owl is a beautiful, small owl located in Northern North America that has a distinct call. Throughout the year we have been able to track their interesting migration patterns.

Bird Banding

Bird banding has been practiced starting in the 20th century and is an effective and harmless way to track the migration patterns of birds.

Poetry

There is a lot of great writing about owls and nature in general that can be applied to the real world.
